Mr. Folger has served this community for 28 years. Mr. Folger came to Fairfax Middle School as a Social Studies Teacher 10 years ago after retiring from a career in law enforcement.

      Mr. Folger graduated with academic honors from the History Department at California State University-Bakersfield. He received his Master of Education in Educational Management from the University of La Verne and has a California Teaching Credential in Social Studies and an Administration Credential.

      Mr. Folger received an Honorable Discharge from the United States Marine Corps in 1984 after 6 years active service with Presidential Helicopter Squadron One in Washington DC.

      John has three children (ages 29,28,26) and three beautiful grandchildren. His family enjoys spending time at their mountain retreat in Kern Valley.
